A Nine Day Prayer of Surrender and Doing the Small Things with Great Love
Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, lovingly known as The Little Flower, reminds us that holiness is not found only in grand acts, but in quiet faithfulness, hidden sacrifices, and love poured into ordinary moments.
This nine day novena is an invitation to surrender, to trust God fully, and to follow Saint Thérèse’s simple yet powerful way of living, her Little Way. Each day offers reflection, prayer, and encouragement to do small things with great love.
Many who pray this novena share that Saint Thérèse sends a rose as a sign of her intercession. Sometimes it is literal, sometimes symbolic, but always meaningful.
Novena Prayer
Sign of the Cross
O Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, who during your short life on earth became a mirror of purity, of love, & of abandonment to God,
Make my troubles your own, speak on my behalf to Our Lady Immaculate, “who smiled on you at the dawn of life,”
Beg her intercession for the grace I yearn for so ardently at this moment (state intention) & that she join with it a blessing that may strengthen me during life defend me at the hour of death, and lead me to eternity.
O God, who did inflame with the Spirit of Love the soul of your servant, Therese, of the Child Jesus, grant that we also may love and make You much loved.
Amen.
Close with a Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
